My neighboor has an '82 650 Savage that I am thinking about buying. This will be a first bike for me (I'm 37). She bought a HD two years ago and the Savage has been sitting under cover (with gas in it)in her garage ever since. What should I do to get this bike started? I am not familiar with motorcycles, but do a lot of work on car engines. Obviously, I would drain the gas out and change the spark plug, and I'm assuming I'll have to put a new battery in it, but is there anything else I should do since the bike has been sitting for so long (like some oil in the cylinder and turn the motor over by hand, ect.)? Also, what should I pay for this bike? It has 1100 miles on it and is in pretty good condition for an '82? Thanks! (Cool site here, btw)
